Research points to the feasibility of microRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers of heart disease in dogs and cats

Researchers at the Federal University of Paraná, have found through a literature review that microRNAs are effective as diagnostic biomarkers and may be useful in the prognostic evaluation of different heart diseases in dogs and cats. In addition, the alteration in the expression of microRNAs may aid in the understanding of the pathophysiology of diseases not yet fully clarified and may also be a promise in the therapeutic field of veterinary cardiology.
