Computerized image analysis detected differences in chromatin in follicular lesions

The present study evaluated whether a computerized image analysis would be able to detect nuclear differences between three thyroid tumor subtypes (NIFTP, IEFVPTC, and IFVPTC). The results point to the possibility of showing differences in the nuclear texture between NIFTP (non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm) and IFVPTC (infiltrative follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma), but not for IEFVPTC (tumour capsular invasion).
